When it comes to the wedding day there is a lot to do before you all walk down that aisle.  The dress, shoes and accessories are all ready to be slipped on but hair and make-up still need to be done to pull the whole look of the bridesmaid together.  We asked our dear friend and professional make-up artist, Erin Guenter, what make-up tips she had for our lovely bridesmaids.

1. If you can, take advantage of having a professional Makeup Artist on site. Brides usually always book one and Artists usually discount their rates if there are multiple faces in need of makeup...how amazing you look and feel at the wedding and in the photos will be worth the investment.

2. Don't outshine the Bride. Of course you want to look your best but keep in mind it is the Brides special day. Have your makeup defined and picture perfect but keep it soft and pretty.

3. Have a small beauty bag in tow! If your makeup is done correctly, minimal touch ups will be required but always have your lip color, powderless blotting papers, pressed powder and a cheek color to keep those cheeks blushing!

4. If a Bridesmaid is doing her own makeup keep it simple and always focus on complexion. When your skin looks great you don't need too much of anything else in order to look perfectly polished. Even out your skin with a foundation best for your skintype, use a more pigmented concealer for areas of more concentrated redness and discoloration such as around nose, under eyes and any possible pimples that may of popped up. Set everything using a translucent powder, apply bronzer to the cheeks, forehead and nose for a sunkissed glow and a pop of bright color on the cheeks. Choose 3 colors for the eyes, a color slightly lighter than the skin to use all over the eyelid and to highlight under the brow, a medium shade with a touch of shimmer for the lid and a neutral matte shade that is 2 shades darker than the skin to define the crease. Apply an eyeliner as close to the roots as possible and smudge it to soften (repeat under the eye if desired). Top it all off with a few coats of waterproof black mascara. Keep the lips neutral, it makes it easy to touch up and not such a big deal if the touch gets missed....because of all of the fun you are having!

Flowers are an important element to just about any occasion.  Finding someone that can bring your vision to life can be tough to find but we have been fortunate to come across someone who has done just that.  Leesa Mitchell from Events in Bloom has created floral arrangements for our Chiffon launch party and our booth set-up at Toronto's Bridal Show and we couldn't be more happy with the results.

On Thursday March 29th our twobirds Canada location launched the new Chiffon Collection that is now available for order.  The collection is a separate piece where the chiffon overlay is worn over our classic style dresses.  We are offering it in both the short straight and ball gown length and in six colours: ivory, fuchsia, aubergine, windsor navy, slate and black.  We had three beautiful models showcasing our new collection along with our show room mannequins and a gallery of chiffon collection images.
 

 

 

 

Our party was a wonderful success and we would like to send out a big thank you to all those who contributed their time and efforts to the evening.

We had such an amazing time hosting trunk shows in Calgary and Vancouver last month!!

We met so many beautiful brides-to-be along with their bridesmaids who looked stunning in our dresses, we made an appearance on Breakfast Television Vancouver and we also hosted a fun media event where we met with a bunch of young bloggers who ended up loving our dresses just as much as we do!!
